Things you learn from your Mom…

The other day I found myself toteting all of my plants back to the shower.  Ijah followed with looks and noises that could easily be translated as “what are you doing…weirdo”.  I’d been meaning to shower the plants for weeks.  The looked dusty and sad.  They didnt have that perky plant look that I love, and the smell was all wrong.

I let them soak for awhile, knowing I was over watering but that in the end they would thank me.  I dragged them back to their homes, sprinkling water everywhere, leaving a tiny trail of mud, and got them all back into place.  Being in an apartment sometimes you take the hard way of doing things.  No yard means no throwing them out in the rain.

They seemed much better, so much happier, smelling good, giving off oxygen.  I wiped up the water, washed the mud out of the tub and told Ijah we needed to do that once in while.

I’m sure I’m not the only person to shower my plants.  And I wont be the last either, because I think Ijah is like me, and that certain things will stick even when he’s not thinking about them.

Thanks Mom.  My plants thank you too.
