Talon free Tuesday…
My life has been plagued by nails this past few days. The kiddo is in a grabbing pinching scratching phase. He loves to garb, he thinks its cool. Unfortunately his nails are like little razor blades, even right after a trimming. So when I go to bed to let my little wounds heal I would love to sleep for the short amount of time he allows. But the other kids have different ideas. Constant scratching…doors, tables, wood, fabric. I hear it through the house when it is dark. I get up to stop them to see them lying relaxed in the middle of the floor, far from anything scratchable.
This morning I pinned them all down one by one. Baby first…I cut those little buggers as short as I could. He behaved quite well, i think he knew I was serious. Then kitty number one, Jello. Jello does no maintenance on himself, he’s a slob, so I was able to remove damn near an inch of nail…lucky for him really, I was tempted to take the whole foot. Thrilled with the attention he just purred the whole time. My last challenge, Grace. Grace does not like her nails trimmed, and to her credit she usually takes pretty good care of them. Unfortunately she is the biggest clawer, and the most likely to leave me maimed. Amazingly enough…she was very good.
So I feel accomplished, if nothing else, I dealt with some peeves today, and for the moment I have a talon free household.

It was a peaceful night; no cats scratching at the doors and Ijah couldn’t claw his way out of his crib.
