Wii’s make wishes come true…

We got a Wii!  I know I know… “aren’t you hav­ing a baby?  shouldn’t you be sav­ing? could that have pur­chased neces­si­ties for Comma?”
Well…yes…to all of the above.  BUT let me prac­tice ratio­nal­iz­ing here for a minute…

–First of all, we had actu­ally been plan­ning and sav­ing for a Wii for longer than a baby so REALLY it was Wii money we spent. 
–We are also com­ing up to a point in our lives where the bud­get will be slim and we will be stuck at home more often…the Wii is great enter­tain­ment. 
–The Wii is a fan­tas­tic device to develop bet­ter hand eye coör­di­na­tion, enabling me to improve skills that will allow me to jug­gle a baby as well as other tasks. 
–When Comma grows up they will play Wii games instead of blow em up killer games. 
–With the Wii Sher­man can play base­ball and bowl when­ever he likes, this is a great way for him to release pent up elec­tion aggre­sion.
–Exercise…everyone knows I am not super con­tent with all of this baby weight thats not baby…the Wii is good exer­cise on days when get­ting out isn’t likely.
–The Wii makes me cooler and more “in touch” with pop­u­lar cul­ture than I have been in prob­a­bly five years.
–Watch­ing the look on Sher­mans face when I box is priceless…if there were ever a “good lord shes going to put her­self into labor” look, he’s got it down.
–Watch­ing me box also brings joy to the neighbors…more than once I have seen them walk by, glance at the win­dow and chuckle at the super preg­nant lady thrash­ing about in her pjs.
–Power bowl­ing is fun.

And the main rea­son I wanted one?  Down­load­able clas­sic games…Metroid for Sher­man, Don­key Kong Coun­try the N64 ver­sion for me…

Damn if I don’t just love that monkey…
